We know you’ll miss us. But here are some helpful hints to keep your apartment safe and orderly while you’re enjoying your time away from home.

 
 

  • Arrange to have mail and other deliveries held at the post office until your return

  • Ensure that all windows are closed and locked, and that all window coverings are closed

  • Consider connecting a timer to lights or a radio to maintain the appearance of an occupied home

  • Empty your garbage and check cupboards for unwrapped food

  • Check the refrigerator before you leave and give any perishables to a friend or neighbor

  • Be sure to check all appliances to guarantee they’re turned off
